Layoffs in Advanced Micro Devices - Finally to come

Janata news had reported layoff in AMD on March 19, 2008.

It said - "to contain the missing finances, layoffs have quietly started. It is expected the 5% of the workforce will be reduced. The layoffs are not targed to any particular section and it looks like it is going to be across the boards."





The layoffs were, however, delayed. It looks like Layoffs are finally going to happen. Expect an announcement tommorrow on April 17, 2007. Janata News will keep a track on the news and keep you updated as soon as more information is available.

The number 2 chipmaker is struggling to keep its finances in control. It is under pressure to report some better results in the first quarter of 2008.
