Microsoft Office Goes Online

Microsoft has has extended Microsoft Office for online use that it calls Office Live Workspace.

The Officelive Workspace lets users create and share documents online.

Google was a leader in providing online documentation editing saving and sharing using Google Docs. The most useful thing about which, is that it allows the user to open Office attachments without installing Office. Microsoft is expected to make up the lost money with online ads.

A spokeperson said Microsoft was "bringing a software plus services experience to people at home, work and school." The company said that hundreds of thousands of users have signed up since the private beta was launched last October.

Office Live Workspace lets users organise and edit documents and projects online. Microsoft provides limited online storage with the service.
